LOUIS – The
Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC)
has re-elected
Jim Curran to its board of directors as
District 5 Director.
Curran has held the position
since 2004.
Curran is the director of business development for the
Electrical Connection.
MEDC
is a statewide, nonprofit association of economic development
professionals and community leaders dedicated to enhancing economic
growth through program initiatives and collaboration.
Curran
represents municipalities in District 5 to gain tools, incentives and
legislation from the state of Missouri necessary for job retention,
expansion and attraction.
The district includes the city of St.
Louis, St. Louis County and the Missouri counties of Franklin,
Jefferson, Lincoln, Montgomery, St. Charles, Warren and Washington.
In
his position at the Electrical Connection, Curran focuses on
cultivating professional relationships and developing new business
opportunities with construction buyers and developers throughout
Eastern Missouri, including the St. Louis region.
The Electrical
Connection is a partnership of the
International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One and the
St.
Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
He
previously served as economic development director for the cities of
O’Fallon, Mo. and
Fenton, Mo and as
president of the
Fenton Development Association.
