Habitat for Humanity Creating Entire Neighborhood for Disadvantaged First Time Home Buyers

The Electrical Connection To Work on Final Wiring To Ready Homes For Families' To Move In This Weekend

What:
An extraordinary example of giving is taking shape in Hillsdale as Habitat for Humanity creates an entire neighborhood for disadvantaged first-time homebuyers. On Tuesday, The Electrical Connection will complete the final wiring on the first six homes that will be ready this weekend for families to occupy for the first time. The homes will be showcased as part of a special Habitat for Humanity open house on Saturday, August 27. On the morning of August 27th, the Electrical Connection will begin roughing in wiring for seven additional new homes in the neighborhood. In all 20 homes are being built. When all the homes are finished, The Electrical Connection will have installed 15 miles of wiring - enough to stretch from St. Louis to Chesterfield. The Electrical Connection is donating a total of $80,000 in materials and services to complete the job.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #1 and the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) form The Electrical Connection.

From downtown, take Highway 70 west to the Lucas & Hunt exit. Go south to St. Louis Ave. and make a left. Take another left at Edmund Ave and go to the 2000 block of Edmund.
