Plus 5 contractors must commit to the following criteria. Their work, upon inspection by a +5 local manager, must consistently demonstrate that they meet this criteria:
  • Demonstrates quality workmanship.
  • Uses of quality materials best suited for the job.
  • Employs highly trained IBEW electricians that participate in the continuing education and training programs offered through the St. Louis Electrical Industry Training Center.
  • Uses best practices.
  • Stays knowledgeable of the latest technology and materials.
  • Offers the +5, five year extended warranty program in addition to the electrical contractor's warranty.
  • Provides free estimates.
  • Must be licensed, bonded and insured.
Extra Protection - and It's FREE

The free +5 Plan is a special quality protection program offered exclusively by the Electrical Connection. It covers residential wiring systems in new homes built by IBEW Local One and affiliated contractors. +5 grants the original homebuyer five extra years of freedom from electrical wiring maintenance costs. The protection extends above and beyond the builder’s one-year electrical wiring warranty and the added year of protection offered by the Home Owners Warranty (HOW) program. Program Details

To tap into this exceptional quality guarantee, homebuyers just need to:

1) Buy a new home from a homebuilder who buys electrical contracting services from an IBEW union electrical contractor within the area served by IBEW Local One, and

2) Within 30 days of closing, complete and mail a simple registration form provided by your builder at time of closing. The form is also available by emailing your name, address and phone number with builder name, subdivision and closing date to john@electricalconnection.org or by calling 314 781-0755 (toll-free 866 255-7594).
